Michael's last day

Michael's last day on leave was reserved for just me and Caleb - a little family time before we'd be separated for seven months. Of course, we wanted to make it memorable, so we had a long list of fun activities planned out for the day, and a few back-up ideas in case those didn't work out.

We both wanted to take our time getting around, because it's easier to have a good time when there's no agenda, and you don't feel rushed. Unfortunately, getting to Seattle at 5pm meant that we didn't have time to visit Darin, Deanna, and Daisy, and it was too late to get into the Point Defiance Zoo, the Seattle Aquarium, and the Seattle Science Center. In fact, after all our running around (and getting totally lost two or three times), all we had time to do was grab some dinner and catch an IMax movie. The movie being shown was Monsters Vs. Aliens, and it actually ended up being a lot of fun. I'm so glad Caleb got through it alright, even though it was extremely loud.

I love this man so much, and any amount of time away from him is really tough. I know we've spent seven months apart before, but that was before we'd gotten to be with each other [almost] every day, before we built a home together, and before we had a son. We're trying really hard to not focus on the negative and to just get through this the same way we did last time.
